Ford, GM Try To Sweeten the Pot For Workers To Avoid Strike

General Motors and Ford on Thursday increased their wage offers to the United Auto Workers (UAW) as the carmakers and Chrysler parent Stellantis attempt to reach an agreement with the union before a Sept. 14 deadline.
